The Story Behind Solemates Sandals

Interchangeable is in! From purses, to watches and jewelry, to flip flops, women love the variety and functionality interchangeable products offer.

Actually, the inspiration behind Solemates Sandals was an interchangeable watch band made of jewelry beads. I was so intrigued by the beads, with their varying shapes, sizes and colors, and the interchangeable nature of the bands themselves.

I began thinking of the many things that these fun and colorful beads might be able to decorate, while still offering the same interchangeable nature of that original watch band I purchased. And then it hit me . . . what do women love, I mean really love, to shop for more than shoes and jewelry? And why couldn’t they love them both at the same time? That single thought, united shoes and jewelry, and led to the invention of Solemates Sandals.

Of course it’s not as simple as it sounds and required literally hundreds of hours of R&D, product sourcing, and research to “get it right.” As well as legal research on how to protect the invention (Solemates Sandals are Patent Pending).

Fast forward to today . . . After family sacrifices too immense to talk about, financial investments to great to think about, and a few lessons learned from the manufacturing process along the way . . . Solemates Sandals and the interchangeable tops that adorn them are my business . . . my other baby, of sorts. And the intense focus, dedication, and obsessing led to the creation of a functional, stylish, one-of-a-kind, quality product that is growing faster than I can keep up with. Going forward, my goal is to continue to create unique, fashionable and functional sandals and Mates that women will fall in love with every time they put them on.
